Well, our Spain trip did not enjoy very auspicious beginnings. Todd came over to join us for a week of exploring the vibrant and historic Andalucia region and after a few requisite days of dragging a sleep-walking brother around to “enjoy” the sights and pints of London (that time zone difference thing really does upset a person’s equilibrium), we thought we were ready to embark on our adventures…

We’re now in winter, but the drink of choice would still have to be the one litre stein of beer. Pilsner Urquell is the local brew and our Czech counterparts are apparently the biggest beer drinkers in the world. Now, I can tell some of our Aussie mates and pint-guzzling Pommy acquaintances are getting a bit huffy at this news, but before you get out the duelling pistols and request we step outside, consider this – allegedly the Czechs consume an average 160 litres of beer per person per year!
